Gatsby's 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic... a fun time was had by all!

The Twin Palms Center Annual Golf Classic sponsored by our good friends at Gatsby’s – Boca Raton was held on June 2nd. The festivities actually started on Friday night May 30 with a fantastic kick-off party and dinner at Gatsby’s.

Great food, a beautiful atmosphere and lots of fun people enjoyed the night and didn’t have to worry about hitting their golf balls in the water.

On Monday, the mood got serious as nearly 30 teams hit the Deer Creek Golf Club to beat the course and win the various contests. The competition was tough. Most popular was the closest to the pin contest and everyone had a fantastic time.

While Twin Palms Center was the biggest winner of all, other winners included: Winning foursome Zach Kopp, T. J. Collier, Greg Williams, and Mike Anderson, Longest Drive- Lash Hamilton, Closest to the Pin – Mike Neider.

Thanks again to all of our fabulous sponsors, donors and volunteers who made this a perfect fun-filled event. In particular, we want to thank Peter Vittas, July Williams, Steve Marino, Larry O’Neal and all the staff at Gatsby’s who volunteered , as well as TPC volunteers Jo & John Hofmeyer, Nicole Ramirez, Kevin Dequitado, Jim Nau, Theresa Dean, Stacey deLucia, Carolyn & Barbara Fleming, Cheryl Culp, Mat Lapek and Lilly & Charles Spamer.

Everyone worked so hard and spent so much time at both the Friday night dinner and auction and the golf tournament. A big thank you to Deer Creek’s Todd Liddick head pro and staff for a well run tournament. We appreciate everything you do for Twin Palms Center and all our clients. Thank you and God bless you. The event raised over $10,000, which will go a long way to helping us meet our budget this year.

Finally, we want to say a special thank you to our friend, Ancel Pratt, who arranged a trip for our clients to the HEAT arena, where they were presented with a team-signed basketball for the Gatsby’s auction.

Let the Good Times Roll

The Twin Palms bowling league is in full swing and all of the clients are competing to see who can win the league title. The Boca Raton Bowl is the site of the league battles and we appreciate their support.

Bowling is one of the ways in which TPC works to help to improve the health and fitness of our clients. It is an important part of our overall Life Skills program. The clients also engage in mall walking on a regular basis and receive healthy lunches and snacks during the day. TPC is looking for ways to further enhance our current health initiatives and we will report on that as we make even more progress.
