About Us

Boca Raton Society For The Disabled, a 501(C)(3) Corporation d/b/a Twin Palms Center For The Disabled, was founded in 1968 by members of Soroptimist International of Boca Raton/Deerfield Beach and parents. They saw the need for a structured environment for their disabled adult children who had nowhere to go for socialization and on-going education once they outgrew the public school system.

Throughout its forty year history, Twin Palms Center has continued to expand its facilities and programs to better serve its clients and the community. Clients are ambulatory and are able to care for their own personal needs.

Twin Palms Center clients are encouraged to develop skills and abilities that will assist them in every aspect of their lives. Work habits, social skills, daily living, creative arts and exercise are all integral parts of the program. Instructors work closely with clients to help them develop personal growth and independence.
